Sacred Heart Act of Consecration Prayer by Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque

I, ( your name. . .), give myself and consecrate to the Sacred Heart of our Lord Jesus Christ my person and my life, my actions, pains, and sufferings, so that I may be unwilling to make use of any part of my being save to honor, love, and glorify the Sacred Heart.

This is my unchanging purpose, namely, to be all His, and to do all things for the love of Him, at the same time renouncing with all my heart whatever is displeasing to Him.
I therefore take Thee, O Sacred Heart, to be the only object of my love, the guardian of my life, my assurance of salvation, the remedy of my weakness and inconstancy, the atonement for all the faults of my life and my sure refuge at the hour of death.
Be then, O Heart of goodness, my justification before God Thy Father, and turn away from me the strokes of His righteous anger. O Heart of love, I put all my confidence in Thee, for I fear everything from my own wickedness and frailty; but I hope for all things from Thy goodness and bounty.
Do Thou consume in me all that can displease Thee or resist Thy holy will. Let Thy pure love imprint Thee so deeply upon my heart that I shall nevermore be able to forget Thee or to be separated from Thee. May I obtain from all Thy loving kindness the grace of having my name written in Thee, for in Thee I desire to place all my happiness and all my glory, living and dying in true bondage to Thee.

Pro-gay San Diego apostate bishop pushes homosexual agenda at LGBT ‘Family Mass’

SAN DIEGO, California, October 13, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) — Two left-leaning Catholic bishops, along with “married” homosexual partners, celebrated a special Mass for "Families of the LGBT Community" in San Diego last weekend. The event commemorated the 20-year anniversary of a controversial U.S. bishops’ letter on homosexuality that was censured by the Vatican within a year of its release.
Bishop John Dolan, an auxiliary bishop in the Diocese of San Diego, presided over the October 7 mass commemorating the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' (USCCB) letter on homosexuality "Always Our Children.”
The mass, concelebrated with San Diego Archbishop Robert McElroy and 16 other clergy, took place at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, located in the heart of Hillcrest, the historic epicenter of homosexuality in San Diego.

Before the Mass, Dolan said: “This parish falls within the Hillcrest district and there are a number of people in our community here who want to participate in the life of the Church, and we want to make sure they have a welcome home in some fashion here within the Church.”
During his homily, Dolan praised the 1997 letter “Always Our Children” as offering “an outstretched hand” to parents and family members of homosexual Catholics.
“To you parents, there is no denying your own sons and daughters, whatever their walk in life,” he said.
“Married” homosexual partners Kyle and Snapper Escobar-Humphries said they attended the ‘LGBT’ Mass with their 8- and 9-year-old children to teach them about equality.
“It’s important because my kids have two gay dads and I would like for them to understand that this church is open for everybody,” said one of the “dads” to the San Diego Tribune. “I want them to understand how to treat each other equally.”
The USCCB’s letter Always our Children was addressed to Catholic parents with homosexual children. The letter was criticized by faithful Catholics for its language that originally called the homosexual orientation a “fundamental dimension of one's personality.”
Less than a year after its release, the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) demanded several changes to the text. One change included calling the homosexual orientation “a deep-seated dimension of one's personality” so as to avoid the inference that if homosexuality is a “fundamental dimension of one's personality,” it must be God-given and permanent.
The Vatican also requested that a paragraph telling parents to “wait and see” about the possible homosexual orientation and activities of their adolescent children be revised to advising parents to be “always be vigilant about their children's behavior and exercise responsible interventions when necessary.”
Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz, then bishop of Lincoln, Nebraska, said after the letter’s release that it was "very flawed and defective.” He asserted that it was "founded on bad advice, mistaken theology, erroneous science and skewed sociology."
He added that the “document carries no weight or authority for Catholics, whom I would advise to ignore or oppose it.”
Ex-homosexual Catholic Joseph Sciambra has said the U.S. bishops should apologize to Catholics who struggle with same-sex attraction for releasing the letter, what he called a “travesty.”
“The text is still shocking for its gross generalizations and unwillingness to even briefly grasp the intrinsic desperation and depravity found in the modern ‘gay’ lifestyle,” he wrote in a 2016 article.
“The document also openly condemns those with same-sex attraction to a lifelong imprisonment within homosexuality,” he added.
Dolan said during his homily that the letter was written “at a time when good and faithful church-going Catholics were witnessing society quickly change before their eyes and the Church seemed – in their eyes – to stand still.”
The letter was intended to help parents of same-sex attracted children to meet with pastors.
“In many of these encounters with pastors, parents were met with love and compassion as they discussed their children’s 'new way of life,' while – sadly – others were met with words of condemnation,” he said.
Dolan acknowledged the controversy the letter caused.
“It is true that ‘Always Our Children’ was not warmly received by many Catholics in the U.S. It was too left-leaning for some; even though the bishops then made it clear that the letter was not breaking any new ground on sexual morality, chastity, and mature sexual development according to Sacred Scripture and Tradition,” he said.
“The document was also too right-leaning for others; especially as the language used in the document regarding homosexuality seemed stilted and even offensive to many in the gay community,” he continued.
“However, recall that the letter was ‘an outstretched hand of the bishops' Committee on Marriage and Family to parents and other family members.’ And, for this reason alone, it was a start. It became an opening for more fruitful dialogue and civil discourse,” he added.
Dolan said that 20 years after the letter’s release, the “dialogue and discourse continues.”
Allyson Smith, who attended the event as a member of Ecclesia Militans San Diego, a group of concerned Catholics, called Bishop Dolan's homily a “total capitulation to the homosexual activist agenda."
“(There were) no calls for homosexuals to repent and convert included in his homily," she told Church Militant
The event was attended by various San Diego dignitaries, including Republican Mayor Kevin Faulconer, openly-homosexual California State Assemblymember Todd Gloria, San Diego City Commissioner and male transvestite Nicole Murray-Ramirez, Democrat city attorney Mara Elliott, city council member Chris Ward, San Diego Unified School District board member Kevin Beiser, and city of San Diego Human Relations commissioner Bruce Abrams.
Laurence Greenbank, a Catholic who attended the event to pray a rosary for participants, called the LGBT Mass a "staged media event."
"The 'LGBT' Mass was a media event, staged by the diocese. I believe the real story is how the bishop turned the celebration of the Holy Eucharist into a media event, not a place of worship. The whole event seemed to be choreographed, with the TV cameras, the VIPs, including the mayor and city council member, the imported rich gays (at least two of them were from Palm Springs), the Hillcrest elite gay men’s group with the matching T-shirts. There was an enormous amount of money and preparation spent on this event," he told LifeSiteNews.

"It is absolutely disgusting to see the Holy Eucharist used for political agenda," he added.

Faithful Catholics who attended the 'LGBT' Mass to hand out Catholic literature to participants.

Several tables with rainbow-colored tablecloths were set up for the post-Mass reception in the playground of the Aseltine School, which adjoins St. John the Evangelist church.
Greenbank said he was alarmed at the large police presence at the event, including a sniper.
"I was alarmed to find five police vans in the church parking lot. Half the police were in camouflage, at least two had full packs.  They seemed equipped for warfare, not for security," he said.
"I saw one military guy deployed on the roof of the church building. He carried a military rifle with a scope. He wore a camouflaged hat. He remained hidden for the event," he added.
The faithful Catholics who attended the event said they were dismayed that Bishop Dolan did not comment during his homily on the Catholic Church’s condemnation of homosexual acts as "intrinsically disordered” and the homosexual inclination as “objectively disordered.”

"Bishop Dolan assured the homosexuals and lesbians in the congregation that 'we will accompany you and ponder the mysteries of Christ within you,' however, he did not explain what he meant by this," said Moira Malley, who attended the event, to LifeSiteNews.

Bishop Dolan did, however, point his moral finger at those who make “ad hominem attacks and lies about those with whom we disagree.”
“As our Catechism states, ‘If a lie in itself only constitutes a venial sin, it becomes mortal when it does grave injury to the virtues of justice and charity.’ Civil discourse and fruitful dialogue cannot be forfeited by those who uphold the teachings of the Church and/or by those who struggle to incorporate our teachings within their personal lives,” he said.
After communion, male gay-activist and transvestite Nicole Murray-Ramirez went to the lectern and said that after living in San Diego for decades his "prayers were answered by these two bishops (Dolan and McElroy)," who had "spoken out for equality and civil rights."
Bishops Dolan and McElroy then received Humanitarian Awards from the Community of Hillcrest, which they gratefully accepted to applause, followed by a standing ovation.

Francis’ Dishonesty Unmasked

en.news Francis has confirmed Bishop Marcelo Sánchez Sorondo as the Chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, although he is over 75 and has held his position since 1998. Sánchez is a radical relativist.

In June Francis dismissed Cardinal Müller as the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith with the argument that he no longer intends to prolong roles in the curia beyond five years.

This has turned out to be a falsehood. Other leading liberals like Cardinal Tauran, Cardinal Ravasi or the Dean of the Roman Rota, Monsignor Pinto, have since completed their five-year-term and Francis is keeping them them in place.

Thousands of Poles Pray on the Border Against ‘Islamisation of Europe’

by Victoria Friedman 8 Oct 2017

Thousands of Catholics formed a human chain along the borders of Poland on the anniversary of an historic victory by Europe over the Ottoman Empire officially to pray for peace and “against the Islamisation of Europe”.

Polish media reports hundreds of thousands of adherents participated in the “Rosary on the Borders” event on Saturday, October 7th, to mark the anniversary of the Battle of Lepanto, where “the Christian fleet overcame the Muslim armada, saving Europe from Islamisation”.
The Catholic Feast of the Holy Rosary was established by Pope Pius V in 1571 as “Our Lady of Victory” after the Holy League won a landmark victory over the Ottoman Turks at their naval station in Lepanto.

The Solo Dios Basta foundation, which organised the event, attributed the victory to the recital of the rosary “that saved Europe from Islamisation”.

Prayers took place across some 4,000 locations along the country’s 2,000-mile border involving 320 churches from 22 dioceses.

Harsh condemnation of God's enemies, the first men signifying the pope and his clergy, the second evil laity and the help He sends to his friends: The Prophecies and Revelations of Saint Bridget of Sweden

Chapter 41 - A Judgment Scene for Five Categories of People. Harsh condemnation of God's enemies, the first men signifying the pope and his clergy.

Our beloved Creator’s words in the presence of the heavenly host and the bride, in which he complains about five men signifying the pope and his clergy, the evil laity, the Jews and the heathens; and also about the help he sends to his friends, signifying all mankind, and about the harsh judgment he executes on his enemies.

Chapter 41

“I am the Creator of all things. I was born of the Father before Lucifer. I am inseparably in the Father and the Father in me and one Spirit in us both. Accordingly, there is one God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - and not three gods. I am the one who promised the eternal inheritance to Abraham and led my people out of Egypt through Moses. I am the one who spoke through the prophets. The Father sent me to the womb of the Virgin without separating himself from me but remaining inseparably with me so that mankind, who had abandoned God, would return to God through my love.

But now, in your presence, my heavenly host, although you see and know all things in me, yet for the sake of the knowledge and teaching of my bride standing here, who cannot understand spiritual things except through a corporal parable, I make a complaint before you over these five men who are standing here, for they provoke me to wrath in many ways. Just as I, once, in the Law, with the name of Israel, signified the whole Israelite nation, so now by these five men I signify every man in the world.

The first man signifies the leader of the Church and his priests; the second, the evil laity; the third, the Jews; the fourth, the heathens; and the fifth, my friends. But from you, Jew, I exclude all the Jews who are Christians in secret and who serve me secretly in a pure love, a right faith, and a perfect deed. And from you, heathen, I exclude all those who would gladly walk in the way of my commandments, if they only knew and were taught how they should walk and live, and who with their deeds do as much as they know and are able. These shall by no means be judged with you. I now complain over you, o head of my Church, who sit on my seat which I gave to Peter and his successors to sit on with a threefold dignity and power: First, so that they would have the power of binding and loosing souls from their sins. Second, so that they would open Heaven for the penitent. Third, so that that they would close Heaven to the damned and to those who despise my Law. But you, who should be healing souls and presenting them to me, you are in truth a murderer of souls. I appointed Peter as shepherd and guardian of my sheep. But you, however, scatter and wound them. You are worse than Lucifer. For he was envious of me and desired to kill none but me so that he could rule in my place. But you are so much worse, for you do not only kill me by driving me off from yourself by your bad deeds, but you also kill souls by your bad example. I redeemed the souls with my blood and entrusted them to you as to a faithful friend, but you deliver them back again to the enemy from whom I redeemed them. You are more unrighteous than Pilate. He judged no one else but me to death, but you not only judge me as if I were a powerless lord and worthy of no good thing, no, you also judge and condemn the souls of the innocent and let the guilty go free without any rebuke. You are more cruel than Judas who only sold me, but you not only sell me, but also the souls of my chosen men for your own shameful profit and vain name’s sake. You are more despicable than the Jews, for they only crucified my body, but you crucify and torture the souls of my chosen men for whom your malice and your sins are more bitter than from any wound from a sword. And so, since you are like Lucifer and more unrighteous than Pilate and more cruel than Judas and more despicable than the Jews, I complain over you with justice.

To the second man, that is, to the laity, our Lord said: “I created all things for your benefit. You gave your consent to me and I to you. You gave me your faith and promised by oath that you would serve me. But now, you have deserted me like a man who does not know his God. You hold my words for a lie and my deeds as vanity, and you say that my will and my commandments are too heavy. You have violated the faith you promised me. You have broken your oath and abandoned my name. You have separated yourself from the number of my saints and have come to belong to the number of the devils and you have become their friend. You think that no one is worthy of praise and honor but yourself. Everything that belongs to me and that you are bound to do for me appears heavy and bitter for you, but the things that please yourself are very easy for you. Therefore, I complain over you with right, for you have broken the faith you gave me in baptism and later; and for the love I have shown you in word and deed, you mock me and call me a liar, and for my suffering you call me a fool.”

To the third man, that is, to the Jews, he said: “I began my deed of love with you and I chose you as my people. I led you out of slavery, I gave you my Law, I brought you into the land I had promised your fathers, and I sent you prophets to console you. Thereafter, I chose a virgin for myself from among you from which I assumed Manhood. But now I complain over you since you do not want not believe in me, but say: ‘The Christ has not yet come; he is still to be expected.’ ”

Our Lord said to the fourth man, that is, to the heathens: “I created and redeemed you like the Christian man, and I created all good things for your sake. But you are like a man out of his senses, because you do not know what you are doing. You are also like a blind man, because you do not see where you are going. You honor and worship the created things instead of the Creator, and the false instead of the true, and you bend your knee before things that have less worth than yourself. That is why I complain about you.”

To the fifth man, he said: “My friend, come closer!” And he directly said to the heavenly host: “My beloved friends, I have a friend with which I signify and mean many friends. He is like a man trapped among evil people and harshly shackled in captivity. If he speaks the truth, they beat his mouth with stones. If he does something good, they thrust a spear into his breast. Alas, my friends and saints, how long shall I endure such men, and how long shall I tolerate such contempt?”

Saint John the Baptist answered: “You are like the most pure mirror, for we see and know all things in you as in a mirror without any help of words and speech. You are the sweetness that no one can describe in which we taste all good things. You are like the sharpest of swords for you judge in righteousness.”

Our Lord answered him: “Indeed, my friend, you said the truth, for my chosen men see all goodness and righteousness in me, and even the evil spirits see it in their own conscience but not in the light. Just like a man placed in a dark prison, who had earlier learned the letters, knows that which he had learned before even though he is in darkness and currently cannot see, so it is with the devils. Even though they do not see my righteousness in the light of my clarity, they still know and see it in their conscience. I am also like a sword that separates things into two parts. In this way I give each and every person what they deserve.”

Then Our Lord said to Saint Peter: “You are the founder and defender of the faith and of my Church. While my host is listening, state the sentence of the five men!” Peter answered: “O Lord, all praise and honor to you, for the love you have shown to your earth. Blessed be you by all your host, for you allow us to see and know all things in you that have been and will be, and that is why we see and know all things in you. It is true justice that the first man who sits upon your seat, while having the deeds of Lucifer, should shamefully lose the seat he dared to sit on and become a partaker in the torment of Lucifer. The right judgment of the second man is that he, who has fallen away from your faith, should fall down to hell with his head down and feet up, for he loved himself and despised you who should have been his head. The right judgment of the third man is that he will not see your face and that he should be tormented for his malice and greed, since unbelievers do not deserve to see your glory and beauty. The right judgment of the fourth is that he should be locked up like a man out of his senses and banished to the city of darkness. The right judgment of the fifth is that help should be sent to him.”

Then our Lord answered: “I swear by God the Father, whose voice John the Baptist heard in the Jordan; I swear by the body which John baptized, saw, and touched in the Jordan; I swear by the Holy Spirit who revealed himself in the form of a dove at the Jordan, that I shall do justice with these five men.”

Then our Lord said to the first of these five men: “The sword of my severity will go into your body; it shall enter at the top of your head and penetrate you so deeply and violently that it can never be drawn out. Your chair will sink like a heavy stone and never stop before it comes to the lowest of depths. Your fingers, that is, your assistants and advisers, will burn in the inextinguishable sulfurous fire. Your arms, that is, your office-holders, who should have reached out for the help and benefit of souls but instead reached out for worldly honor and profit, will be judged to the torment and suffering of which David speaks: ‘His sons shall be fatherless and his wife a widow and others shall take his property.’ Who is ‘his wife’ if not the soul which shall be excluded from the glory of Heaven and be widowed and lose God? ‘His sons’, that is, the virtues they appeared to have, and my simple and humble men who were under them, shall be separated from them. Their honor and property will be given to others, and they will inherit eternal shame instead of their dignity and glory. Their headgear will sink down into the filth of hell, and they will never be able to get up out of it. Just as they rose above others through their honor and pride, so in hell they will sink so much deeper than others so that it will be impossible for them to ever stand up again. Their limbs, that is, all the priests who followed and helped them in wickedness, will be cut off from them and severed just like the wall that is torn down where not a single stone is left upon another stone and the cement no longer adheres to the stones. No mercy will come to them, for my love will never warm them nor restore or build them up into an eternal house in Heaven, but instead they shall be excluded from all good and endlessly tormented with their headmen and leaders.

But to the second I say: Since you do not want to keep the faith you promised me and have love toward me, I shall send an animal to you that will rise from the surging torrent, and it shall swallow you. Like the torrent always flows downward, so this animal will drag you down to the lowest hell, and just like it is impossible for you to travel upstream against the surging torrent, it will be just as hard for you to ever ascend from hell.

To the third I say: Since you, Jew, do not want to believe that I have come, you will see me when I come on judgment day, but not in my glory but in your conscience, and you will come to know that all the things I said were true. Then there is nothing left for you but to be tormented as you deserve.

To the fourth I say: Since you do not care to believe and do not want to know me, your darkness will become light for you, and your heart will be enlightened so that you may know that my judgments are true, but you will still not come to the light.

To the fifth I say: I shall do three things to you. First, I shall fill you inwardly with my fervor. Second, I shall make your mouth harder and firmer than any stone, so that the stones turn back to the ones throwing them at you. Third, I shall arm you with my weapons so well that no spear will harm you but instead everything will melt before you like wax in the heat of the fire. Be therefore made strong and stand like a man. For just like a knight in battle who hopes for help of his lord and continues fighting as long as he still has some life-force in him, so may you too stand firm and fight like a man; for the Lord, your God, whom none are able to withstand, will give you help. And since your number is small, I will honor you and multiply you greatly. Behold, my friends, you see these things and know them in me, and in this way they stand before me.

The words I have now spoken will be fulfilled. But these other men shall never enter my kingdom, as long as I am King, unless they better themselves. For Heaven will only be given to those who humble themselves and to those who mourn over their sins with penance.” Then all the host answered: “Praise be to you, Lord God, who are without beginning and without end.”

Our lady of Rosary Exterminatrix of all Heresies will defeat Islam

O Virgin Immaculate and Queen of the Holy Rosary, in these days of dead faith and triumphant impiety thou hast desired to establish thy throne as Queen and Mother in the ancient land of Pompeii, once the home of paganism. From that place, where men of old worshiped idols and evil spirits, do thou this day, as the Mother of divine graces, scatter far and wide the treasures of heaven's mercy. Ah, from that throne where thou reignest in mercy, turn, dear Mother, thine eyes of pity even upon me and be gracious unto me who have so great need of thine assistance. Show thyself to me, even as thou hast shown thyself to so many others, a true Mother of mercy: "Monstra te esse Matrem" (Show Thyself a Mother); while with all my heart I salute thee and invoke thee as my sovereign Lady and Queen of the most Holy Rosary.

Hail, Holy Queen.

 (An indulgence of 300 days--1925)

Our Lady of Rosary, Pray for Us.

In the Treatise on True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin, St. Louis de Montfort teaches us that the Virgin Mary will lead us in the fight against Satan, to battle against the army of the Antichrist; formed by heretics, apostates, wicked, idolaters and Mohammedans. Saint Louis adds that in these latter times, the Blessed Virgin will raise up great saints, who will extend the empire of Jesus Christ over "the impious, the idolaters and the Muslims."

The public invocation of the sacrilegious name of Mahomet is expressly forbidden – it displeases the divine majesty

It is an insult to the holy name and a disgrace to the Christian faith that in certain parts of the world subject
to Christian princes where Saracens live, sometimes apart, sometimes intermingled with Christians, the Saracen priests commonly called Zabazala, in their temples or mosques, in which the Saracens meet to adore the infidel Mahomet, loudly invoke and extol his name each day at certain hours from a high place, in the hearing of both Christians and Saracens and there make public declarations in his honour. There is a place, moreover, where once was buried a certain Saracen whom other Saracens venerate as a saint. A great number of Saracens flock there quite openly from far and near. This brings disrepute on our faith and gives great scandal to the faithful. These practices cannot be tolerated any further without displeasing the divine majesty. We therefore, with the sacred council’s approval, strictly forbid such practices henceforth in Christian lands. […] [We enjoin on catholic princes] They are to remove this offence altogether from their territories and take care that their subjects remove it, so that they may thereby attain the reward of eternal happiness. They are to forbid expressly the public invocation of the sacrilegious name of Mahomet. (Council of Vienne. Decree, no. 25, January 13, 1313)

The Muslims treat the Cross and Salvation with complete contempt

[…] the Turks and other infidels […] They treat the way of true light and salvation with complete contempt and totally unyielding blindness; they attack the life-giving cross on which our Saviour willed to accept death so that by dying he might destroy death, and by the ineffable mystery of his most holy life he might restore life; and they make themselves hateful enemies of God and most bitter persecutors of the Christian religion. Strengthened by defences not only spiritual but also temporal, we may be able, under God’s guidance and favour, to oppose the bitter and frequent sallies by which, in wild rage, they move savagely amidst Christian blood. (Lateran Council V. Session XII, March 16, 1517)

Saint Juan de Ribera

Islam does not deserve the name of religion

But that which has already been written is sufficient as the conclusion of this article, which is so important for your salvation; which is to say, for the destruction of the perverse sect ofMohammed. Because if we have proven that the finality that it proposes is entirely bestial, and unworthy of the authority of man; and if its author was an adulterous man, a perjurer, a thief, a murderer, a blasphemer, and most ignorant in human and divine letters; and if all the things contained in this his law were fables in philosophy and errors in theology, even for those who do not possess the light of reason, and the customs he teaches are a school of bestial vices; and he did not prove this his new sect with any motive, neither supernatural with miracles nor natural with reasons, but solely spread it by the force of arms, violence, fictions, lies, and carnal license, what remains other than it is a sect that is impious, blasphemous and vicious, an invention of the devil, and the direct way to the fires of hell, and that it does not even merit the name of being called a religion. (Saint John de Ribera. Catechism for the Instruction of the New Converts of the Moors, 1599 AD)

Saint Thomas Aquinas

  • There is not one pronouncement on the part of the prophets offering Mohammed any witness

Nor do divine pronouncements on the part of preceding prophets offer him (Mohammed) any witness. On the contrary, he perverts almost all the testimonies of the Old and New Testaments by making them into fabrications of his own, as can be. seen by anyone who examines his law. It was, therefore, a shrewd decision on his part to forbid his followers to read the Old and New Testaments, lest these books convict him of falsity. It is thus clear that those who place any faith in his words believe foolishly. (Saint Thomas Aquinas. Summa contra Gentiles, Book I, ch. 6, no. 4)

6, no. 4)

Reverse ‘Inquisition’ inside de Church persecutes Orthodox Catholics.

October 6, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – There’s a “topsy-turvy Inquisition” happening in the Church right now, according a world-renowned philosopher fired by his archbishop for questioning the Pope’s teaching in Amoris Laetitia. This “Inquisition” is targeting and persecuting orthodox Catholics, he wrote, for failing to affirm the “situation ethics” that the Church has always condemned.

Professor Joseph Seifert, a philosopher fired by the archbishop of Granada, Spain, for having criticized Amoris Laetitia in a scientific way, repeated his plea to Pope Francis to answer the question whether he denies the existence of acts which are intrinsically wrong.

Writing in First Things (October 5) Seifert explains, “I do this because I profess a faith whose Scriptures teach us that sometimes a donkey can see something the prophet fails to see. If the prophet in such a case slaps the donkey, whom God sent him, he will receive the stern reprimand God gave the prophet through his angel.” en.news

“As we walk the unerring and life-bringing path, let us pluck out the eye that scandalizes us-not the physical eye, but the noetic one. For example, if a bishop or presbyter-who are the eyes of the Church-conduct themselves in an evil manner and scandalize the people, they must be plucked out. For it is more profitable to gather without them in a house of prayer, than to be cast together with them into the gehenna of fire together with Annas and Caiaphas.”

‘Souls could well be lost’: Moral theologian blasts pro-LGBT Fr. James Martin

October 4, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – Famed moral theologian Janet Smith criticised Jesuit Father Martin’s “slick dissent” from Church teaching on sexuality “and its pernicious influence” in a recent column. She said that his “scandalous” interpretation of Catholic teaching could jeopardize the salvation of the people who hear his message.

“Souls could well be lost,” she wrote in a column last week for Catholic World Report. Smith is a professor of moral theology at the Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, Michigan.
“Anyone reading his book or listening to his talks can reasonably conclude that Father Martin believes the Church does not present correctly God’s plan for sexuality,” Smith said, “that he thinks the culture knows better.”
The book she referenced was Martin’s Building a Bridge, which Smith called “one of the most aggravating instances” of reemerging dissent in the Church.
The book is “full of ambiguity,” she said.
While Martin continually claims that he doesn’t oppose the Church's moral teaching, Smith noted that “the subtext makes his position clear, as do many statements made in his public presentations."
“For Catholics who have some background in theology and philosophy it is deeply disappointing when a highly educated priest uses specious arguments to advance his cause,” she said.
“For those whose every fiber of their Catholic being leads them to want to trust priests, bishops, and religious superiors, such instances of untrustworthiness are scandalous; for those of us who have been fighting dissent for nearly 40 years, seeing a dissenter get ecclesial support and public acclaim is demoralizing,” she added.
Despite receiving criticism from bishops and cardinals, Martin maintains that he is simply trying to welcome LGBT-identifying Catholics into the Church.
But, as Martin's critics point out, the Jesuit priest neglects to speak about the Church’s call for everyone to reject sinful lifestyles, to confess and repent of sin, and to amend their lives.
Smith notes how Martin also neglects to mention the Church’s longtime ministries for those experiencing same-sex attraction, such as Courage and Encourage, presumably because they convey the Church’s teaching that condemns homosexual activity.
She noted in the article Martin's tendency to affirm homosexuals in their behaviors.
“For instance,” related Smith, “at a recent presentation at Villanova University, he told to a young man, ‘I hope in 10 years you will be able to kiss your partner [in church] or, you know, soon to be your husband.’”
The moral theologian said that while she was “profoundly frustrated” that Martin’s views have a wide audience within the Catholic Church, she was also “gratified, inspired, and consoled” that so many faithful Catholic leaders have refuted his thinking.
She cited, among others, a critique of Martin's outreach coming from Philadelphia Archbishop Charles Chaput, Theologian Eduardo Echeverria, and Father Roger Landry. Added to this list would be Cardinal Robert Sarah and Illinois Bishop Thomas Paprocki.
“We should commit ourselves to distributing copies of these refutations to others whenever his name comes up,” said Smith.
Smith also criticised Martin’s “welcoming effort,” saying that it was an approach that “seems largely condescending.”
“Instead of challenging people to embrace the fullness of the faith, he tries to hide or downplay, or even reject, the teachings of the Church in order to appear welcoming,” she said.
“True welcoming means we make it clear we want everyone to join us in following Jesus; we want to share with others the truth and beauty we know, and we will do our best to explain beliefs and teachings that might be hard to understand or accept,” she continued.
“We do so not thinking we are any better than anyone else but wanting to be faithful to our beloved Jesus, who commissioned all Christians to stand up for challenging truths,” she added.
The moral theologian said that those who want to be welcoming and compassionate to those who experience same-sex attraction need to learn about causes and treatment, Church teaching, and how to listen to those who suffer from the attraction.
She linked to her book with Courage International Executive Director Father Paul Check, Living the Truth in Love - Pastoral Approaches to Same-Sex Attraction.
And she recommended the book Out of a Far Country, co-written by a mother and her son on their journey into Christianity through dealing with his homosexuality, as well as Daniel Mattson’s Why I Don't Call Myself Gay.
Smith also suggested books by Andrew Comiskey, who ministers to those with same-sex attraction, citing, in particular, his book The Naked Surrender.
“We cannot and must not be content simply to rant and rave and wail because of Father Martin’s slick dissent and its pernicious influence,” concluded Smith.
“We must be the ones reaching out with genuine love, a love that strongly believes in the transforming and fortifying power of grace to enable us to embrace God’s plan for sexuality, whatever challenges it presents,” she added.
